Yes, it’s approaching again, the season of gift giving! Love it or loathe it there is no hard and fast formula to giving great gifts but there are a few guidelines that can be useful – whether you have a tight budget or want to indulge and be extravagant! The common factor is ‘effort’! Every gift we offer, no matter the cost, should appear thoughtful, relevant and if possible unique.

Everyone can learn the art of giving great gifts. It can be worrying for many, but with a little effort, your gifts can be well received and appreciated. Offering a gift is way of expressing your appreciation or simply to show someone that you care.

Here are our top tips for holiday gifting:

Plan ahead – if you have a busy social calendar or a large family, plan ahead of time. Make a list of who you want to give gifts to and don’t leave it until the last moment to shop! You’ll feel more organised and in control.

Know your budget – Big budget, small budget, it doesn’t matter! It really is the thought that counts. When you decide your budget, stick to it!

Be creative – Creative gifts may take a lot of effort, but they will always be appreciated! They don’t have to be costly but will show that you put some thought into the gift. A large box of chocolates will always be enjoyed but a ….

Wrap it up! –  Even if you take a bottle of wine, try to use a gift bag. It gives the impression of thought! It’s so much nicer to receive a gift that has been well presented than just handed over.
